soccer finals 2005 as the sun sets,
the match remains a draw at 1-1.
announcement for an extra 5 mins.
even so, the score remains stagnant.
into penalty shootout we go.
it was the longest part of the game ever.
hands clamped together as the crowd pray in unison.
heads bowed down in hopes of victory.
everytime a ball enters the goal-post.
the crowd bursts into cheer.
the carries on throughout.
until a ball is seen sailing over the goal-post.
our enemy bursts into cheer while we stare blankly and attempt to swallow in what jus happened.
nerve-wrecking this moment was.
but miraculously, wu jun saves the a ball.
shrieks and screams emerge from the crowd.
however, our happiness didnt last long.
sudden death hits us.
another ball went over the goal-post.
defeat hit us hard.
the boys cried; sobbed; cover their faces in disappointment.
some laid on the field not believing what just happened.
our not so victorious team walked back dejectedly.
shouts frm the crowd in hopes of consoling them didnt seem to help.
' we stil love you ! '
' good game guys ! '
were all that was heard.
i was devastated.
i could not believe we lost soccer.
but it was a harsh reality we all faced.
ashwin did not dare face the crowd.
some guys just looked down and away.
it was an awful sight.
utterly painful.
the crowd was silent.
whispers about the game went on.
gossipss about not having a full day holiday the next day seem almost confirmed.
i was trying hard to face the loss.
and thinkin what to say to the guys.
zeya cried as he was in the soccer team.
the pain he was went through must have sucked real badly.
hian chuan could not believe we lost.
the better team lost.
unbelievable.
i was, stoned.
but a message to some guys i must still leave.
