mr. men and little miss the history:mr. tickle was the first Mr men character in 1971. Roger Hargreavers' son, Adam, asked him what a tickle looked like and he drew a little orange person with extraordinary long arms, a big toothy grin and little blue hat... and the rest is history.
there are 43 mr men and 30 little miss. the first 6 included the favourites mr happy, mr bump, mr greedy and mr nosey. the little miss came about in the 1980's with the likes of little miss naughty, little miss bossy and little miss chatterbox.
the original tv series was created in 1974, narrated by arthur lowe of dad's army fame.
it is estimated that 100 million mr men books have been sold world-wide and they have been translated into over 15 different languages.
the mr men have appeared on a massive variety of products, from mr bump plasters, mr messy baby bibs, little miss naughty t-shirts to mr grumpy slippers. thus, well, we can say, the mr men and little miss series has come a long way ! (:

i came up with my own pre-conditions for the industrial revolution and came up with ridiculous reasons why there were so many interpretations of the origins of the cold war.
